A musician/song writer, artist, poet, designer, writer, and highly successful business woman, Susan is courageous, innovative, creative, energetic and committed. A walk through Susan’s world is an exciting journey revealing a passionate woman inspired by art and sustained by her empathy for others.

Inspired by artists such as Friedensreich Hundertwasser, a famous and highly regarded Austrian artists of the twentieth century and incorporating nature and vibrant colors, Susan’s art is abstract, organic, saturated with color. It draws the viewer into a world of color. Interpret it as you will, each of Susan's dreamlike paintings is subject to your insight.

Like the artists who influence her, such as Mexican Vladimar Cora whose work has been called neo-figurative, minimalist and coarse, Susan Fielder’s art is neo-primitive, outsider art (a label created by French artist Jean Dubuffet to describe art created outside the boundaries of official culture). Other influencers are Picasso, Calder, and Miro.

"Susan's art drives me nuts! Choosing the my favorite is a challenge. I can't have just one," says fan Vicki G.

Like other producers of outsider art, Susan's paintings have a naive quality. Some have deemed them visionary, schizophrenic, primitive, psychotic, obsessive, compulsive, untutored, vernacular, self-taught, rough, raw ...call them what you will. Outsider art is self-taught and non-academic. Outsider art is now on the inside with the Outsider Art Fair in Paris in Oct 2017. http://outsiderartfair.com/ A good history of Outsider Art can be found at http://outsiderartfair.com/outsider_art.

Taking this a step further, Susan’s medium is done entirely digitally. Digital art is an artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as an essential part of the creative or presentation process. Since the 1970s, various names have been used to describe the process including computer art and multimedia art, and digital art is itself placed under the larger umbrella term new media art.

More generally the term digital artist is used to describe an artist who makes use of digital technologies in the production of art. In an expanded sense, "digital art" is contemporary art that uses the methods of mass production or digital media.

Susan writes - “Digital art is an artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as an essential part of the creative or presentation process. Since the 1970s, various names have been used to describe the process including computer art and multimedia art, and digital art is itself placed under the larger umbrella term new media art."

"I have always wanted to be an artist," says Susan. Discovering her hidden talent has been both a surprise and happy shocker. She hopes you find as much pleasure in looking at her art as she has found in creating it.

With every painting purchased, a donation is made to finding a cure for Pancreatic Cancer, which took Susan's much loved Husband Dan.
